Maria Mościcka (1896-1979) - secretary of Michalina Mościcka, second wife of Ignacy Mościcki, Polish first lady. Maria Dobrzańska was born in 1896. In 1919, she married a soldier, Tadeusz Nagórny. In 1926, Maria's husband became adjutant to the new president, Ignacy Mościcki. At that time, the Nagórny marriage was practically non-existent. The following year, Maria left for her homeland under the guise of taking care of her father.

Meanwhile, Tadeusz caused a scandal when, during his trip to Poznań, alongside the president, he promised a marriage to a dugout (while still married), and later took a large sum of money from her to make a nest in the capital. When the case came out, the government tried to sweep her under the rug, and Maria divorced Nagórny.

After breaking her marriage, the woman was taken in by the then first lady and made her her personal secretary. Maria performed this work until the last days of Mościcka's life. After the death of the first lady, at the president's request, she continued to work at the Royal Castle. Three months later, Mościcki decided to propose to her, which caused a real scandal, which even the press overseas wrote about. In October 1933, the couple had a modest wedding by Cardinal Aleksander Kakowski. In 1939, the Mościcki family and the government evacuated to Romania, and later left for Switzerland, where Ignacy was deprived of his salary and diplomatic immunity. From then on, they lived in poverty. The president died in 1946 and Maria in 1979. The first lady cultivated her husband's legacy until the end of her life.
