14. History story of Ichhini, the queen of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan!

In the previous episode we had discussed Queen Ajiya of Emperor Prithviraj. Like Ajia, love stories are also associated with some other queens of Emperor Prithviraj, from whose study it is known that the princesses of different states started falling in love with the emperor after hearing the tales of heroism of Emperor Prithviraj Chauhan and they decided to marry Prithviraj. struggled with the circumstances.

In fact, these love stories attached to the name of Prithviraj Chauhan are indicative of the fact that due to the victories achieved by King Prithviraj over his enemies, he became so famous that in the folk literature Prithviraj Chauhan is also known as Dhola-Maru and Mumal-Mahindra. Kind was made a hero of folktales.

In similar stories, a story is also found of Prithviraj's queen Ichhini Parmar. According to this story in Prithviraj Raso, the Parmara ruler of Abu, Salakh had two daughters, out of which the elder daughter Mandodari was married to Bhimdev, the Chaulukya ruler of Anhilpatan, who is also called Bhola Bhima in history.

The Chaulukya king Bhimdev also wanted to marry Ichhini, the younger daughter of the Paramara king Salakh, because princess Ichhini was more beautiful than her elder sister Mandodari, but King Salakh wanted to marry his younger daughter Ichhini to King Prithviraj Chauhan of Ajaymeru.

Due to the mutual enmity between the Chauhans and the Chaulukyas, the Chaulukya king Bhola Bhima did not want the princess of the Paramaras to be married to the Chauhan rulers. Therefore King Bhimdev Chaulukya attacked King Salakh of Abu.

On this, King Salakh invited Prithviraj Chauhan, the ruler of Ajayameru, to protect him. King Prithviraj Chauhan reached Abu with his army and he thwarted the attack of Chaulukya king Bhimdev. After this, the Parmar king Salakh married his younger daughter Ichhini with Prithviraj Chauhan.

According to this story in Prithviraj Raso, after this Chaulukya ruler Bhola Bhima attacked Ajmer and killed Someshwar, the king of Ajmer. After this, King Prithviraj Chauhan attacked Bhola Bhima and killed him.

However, it is now established that neither the Chaulukya ruler Bhola Bhima killed Someshvara nor that of Someshwar's son Prithviraj Chauhan killed Bhola Bhima. Therefore, in the balance of historical facts, the various episodes of the story of Princess Ichni do not justify.

There is no king named Salakh among the Parmar rulers of Abu. According to Gaurishankar Hirachand Ojha, at that time Abu was ruled by Dharavarsha Parmar and not Sankhla Parmar. Many historians, including Dr. Dashrath Sharma, have not accepted the existence of Ichhini, while Dr. Ramvriksha Singh has considered this story to be historical, but he has believed more on Prithviraj Raso than the facts found from other references.

The name of a general of Prithviraj Chauhan was Salakh Parmar, who belonged to the Bhinmal branch of the Parmaras. It is quite possible that Prithviraj's queen Ichhini may have been the daughter of this Salakh Parmar.

According to Dr. Ramvriksha Singh, Raja Kumar Pal Chaulukya of Anhilwara removed King Vikramsinh Panwar of Abu from Abu in AD 1145 and appointed Yashodwal as the king of Abu in his place. An inscription is also found in this regard in Ajari village of Sirohi district.

According to Dr. Ramvriksha Singh, Vikram Singh Panwar's son Salakh had married his daughter Ichhini to Prithviraj Chauhan to strengthen his political position so that he could regain his lost kingdom Abu by getting military help from Prithviraj Chauhan.

In fact, this opinion of Dr. Ramvriksha Singh cannot be considered correct because Salakh was not among the Parmars of Abu but was among the Parmars of Bhinmal.

In a book called Rasmala, Prithviraj's queen Ichhini is considered to be the granddaughter of Parmar Salakh. Therefore, on the basis of facts found from various references, it can be assumed that the name of a queen of King Prithviraj Chauhan must have been Ichhini Panwari, but the stories associated with it are not correct.
