archaeological essence

The condition of the source is a rock shed consisting of stones 3 meters wide, 8 meters long, 1.8 meters high from the ground, stacked on top of a raised stone courtyard. with several small stones supporting the rock shed above and the stone shed is tilted and facing north (Pitachai Chatuchai 2010:66). Color paintings are found in the stone shed in the east (Phayao Khemnak 1996:139). about 100 meters west near Bo Nang Usa 3 meters from Nang U-sa pond to the southwest. The shed of this stone shed extends towards Nang U-sa pond (Sumit Pitipat 1977 :19).

There were traces of colored paintings on the ceiling of the stone sheds. From the north, west and south, the paintings are continuous and overlap almost the entire ceiling of the stone shed. written in crimson The size of the line used from 1, 1.6, 2.6 centimeters is written in a rhombus pattern. A small rectangle is inside a large rectangle. Parallel lines, curved lines, grid lines and solid stripes can't find a shape There is also another group of paintings on the sides of the stone ceiling that are obscured in detail (Division of Archeology 1989a:167; Payao Khemnak and Monchan Namthip 1990 22; Pitakchai Jatuchai 2010 :66; Payao Khemnak 1996 :139)

Pitakchai Chatuchai (1990:67-68) interpreted that from the nature of the source of the height of the rock shed from the relatively short and narrow area. which, if considering the use cannot be used as a residence But because in front of the stone shed there is a large courtyard. together with the patterned paintings full of stone shed ceilings and a special pattern Therefore, it can be said that the stone shed beside Nang Usa's well is related to the ritual. And it is also related to the nearby Nang Usa pond. The building is connected between Nang Usa pond and the stone shed beside Nang Usa pond. There is evidence of the use of the area in the late prehistoric period and the Dvaravati period.

While Ajarn Sumit Pitipat (1977:22) stated that this stone shed can hold 10-15 people, it may have been used as a residence for the ancients. Nowadays, there are still villagers who come to cut down trees to stay overnight.
