Wat Thanon Kot is located on an elevated area that connects to the plains along Lam Ta Khong Long. The temple is located approximately 550 meters north of Lam Ta Khong Long and approximately 1.3 km north of Lam Ta Khong Long.

According to the history of the temple, it is said that Wat Thanon Kot was founded in 1899 by the Yuan people, as evidenced by the art form of the chapel. and was bestowed Wisung Kham Sima on 25 August 1921.

The general condition at present, Wat Thanon Kot is a temple that is still in use. There is a shady tranquility. An important historical site is the Ubosot. According to history, it was built by the Yuan people. It is a rectangular ordination hall made of brick and mortar, with a high base facing the east. thick solid wall There is a stairway leading up to the chapel and only one entrance and exit on the east side. There is a window on the long side. (North and South) 3 panels on each side. Frame and shutters are wooden. There are 19 outer square pillars of brick and mortar surrounding the chapel (4 in front, 5 at the back, and 5 on each side) to support the wishbones on all 4 sides. The current outer floor of the chapel is cement floor.

The upper part is made of wood. canopy gable roof Thatched with red corrugated tiles. The front gable is decorated with stucco patterns depicting Lord Vishnu on Garuda. flanked by 2 angels (left-right) surrounded by Kruewan pattern The back gable is decorated with stucco patterns depicting 2 angels, raising a table or a high pedestal. surrounded by vine pattern

Surrounding the chapel, there are 8 sandstone parapets and a ball of vision surrounded by the parapet placed on a cement pedestal slightly above the ground. and had a child of visions buried in the ground and a cement pedestal alongside the parapet. (Children of visions buried inside or closer to the chapel) with almost half of the visions emerging from the ground.

From the comparison of the map of the ancient sites declared registered by the Fine Arts Department, it was found that On the west side of the chapel, in which the plan was announced, there was no building registration. But while exploring, it was found that more bell towers were being built.
